Lets Make an A.I. Video- Part 1

The world of ai generated videos has grown leaps and bounds in the last few months, and as such there are quite a number of options interms of software and techniques.

We have all witnessed the rise of AI image generation and I would suggest we still yet to see its plateau in-spite of its ability to create incredibly convincing imagery. And we have all seen viral images of Donald J Trump being arrested in the streets of New York that broke the internet for a short moment, I believe that, a similar viral moment will come for AI video generation within the year. But I digress, In this article I would to give you an overview of the different tools available and to attempt creating a 30 second short video using some of these tool.

The tools available can be divided into two main categories, the first being subscription based online platforms(Closed source), and open source local platforms.

An AI video generator that is open source is a tool that employs artificial intelligence to produce videos based on the text descriptions provided by the user. It utilizes Natural Language Processing (NLP) to comprehend the context of the text and then employs technologies such as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Diffusion, Transformer, or others to generate new synthetic video that correspond to the text description.

The fact that it is open source implies that the code, models, and training frameworks are publicly accessible under licenses that permit individuals to freely utilize, modify, enhance, and distribute them. This fosters collaboration and innovation. However, it is essential to exercise thoughtful governance over these powerful technologies as they continue to rapidly evolve.

There are a number of ways in which one can access and utilize these open source models, among these methods is Hugging face (a machine learning (ML) and data science platform and community that helps users build, deploy and train machine learning models. It provides the infrastructure to demo, run and deploy artificial intelligence (AI) in live applications.) However if you have the hardware to run these models, there are free UI tools such as Automatic 1111 or ComfyUI , these tools provide a visually intuitive interface where models and checkpoints can be used withing the generation process.

DeepMind’s WaveNet is a prime example of closed source AI video generation. This closed-source deep learning model is designed to produce incredibly lifelike human voices. WaveNet’s closed architecture means that it is not accessible to the general public, making it a proprietary technology that powers a range of applications, such as voiceovers for videos and virtual assistants.

Another case of closed-source video synthesis technology can be found in companies like RunwayML. RunwayML offers a platform that allows artists and creators to generate videos using pre-trained machine learning models. While the platform itself is user-friendly, the underlying AI models and algorithms are not open for public scrutiny.

Closed source AI video generation is commonly employed by businesses and organizations to maintain a competitive advantage and safeguard their intellectual property. However, it also raises concerns regarding transparency, accountability, and ethical use of AI. The lack of openness makes it difficult for external parties to assess any biases or potential ethical issues within the algorithms.

Best for: creating short art videos and animations from scratch.

Runway, a startup company, made waves in 2022 with the co-development of Stable Diffusion, a groundbreaking text-to-image model. But they didn’t stop there. They recently introduced Runway Gen-2, a revolutionary technology that takes video creation to a whole new level.

With its state-of-the-art structure and content-guided video diffusion model, Runway Gen-2 has the ability to analyze and comprehend natural language with remarkable accuracy. Rethinking Antivirus Choices for Tech-Savvy Users: Embracing the Minimalist Approach

    Introduction

In the world of cybersecurity, the use of antivirus software is a common practice to protect Windows machines from malicious threats. However, for highly tech-savvy individuals who are well-versed in handling potentially harmful software, there’s a compelling argument against the widespread use of third-party antivirus solutions, except for Windows Defender. This article aims to shed light on the overbearing control exerted by many antivirus programs and advocates for a more minimalist approach, emphasizing the importance of user vigilance and cyber hygiene.

    Understanding Antivirus Permissions and Control

Antivirus software often requires extensive permissions and control over a user’s machine to effectively detect and neutralize potential threats. While this is essential for the average user, those with a deep understanding of software and potential risks may find it intrusive and restrictive. Some antiviruses go as far as monitoring all system activities, restricting certain software installations, and even blocking the execution of specific applications deemed potentially harmful.

    Examples of Invasive Antivirus Software

Certain free antivirus solutions, when bundled with other software, can be particularly invasive. One notorious example is Avast, which often comes bundled with popular applications. Users, in their haste to install a desired program, may inadvertently agree to additional installations, leading to a cluttered system with unnecessary software and potential privacy concerns.

Contrary Scenario: Mining Software for Educational Purposes

Consider a scenario where a tech-savvy user wants to experiment with mining software for educational purposes. Many antivirus programs, in an attempt to protect users from potential threats, may flag mining software as malicious due to its resource-intensive nature. The user, aware of the risks and permissions required, might find themselves frustrated with constant interruptions and false positives from an antivirus solution that lacks nuance.

    The Case for Windows Defender

  • World of a Boychild

    World of a Boychild

Dr Leonard Mwithiga, BSc, MBA, CISA, PhD, a former Group Shared Services Director at KCB bank, is in the headlines for ruining his own life. In his photos, we see a soft, bald-headed bewildered man who seems at a loss. His wife allegedly left for the US with his kids after falling out with him. After thinking about this situation at length, he got angry as most men suffering from oneitis often do. With dark thoughts coursing through his mind, he requested voluntary early retirement, leaving behind a cushy job that many could only dream of. Unbeknownst to many, he was a simple man with simple problems about to become a simple man with complex problems. With the serpent of revenge coiled around the branches of his mind, he traveled to Connecticut in the US where, at some point, he asked a taxi driver to get him a hitman to murder his wife. The taxi driver got the police involved and now Leonard is facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder and will probably spend a considerable time in the can. There have been rumours that money was involved, not just passion. What can we learn from his case with the limited information that we have?First guys, nothing in this world belongs to a man. I learned this maxim from Chigozie Obioma’s Orchestra of Minorities. At your highest self, you possess nothing. That woman you are obsessed about owning, you met her as an adult. If she can detach from you, why can’t you do the same? Why are you so in need of her? This is why Rich Cooper keeps reminding you that she is not yours….Give your best in everything you do but be outcome-independent.Men must learn to detach from all material things. That’s a central aspect of being stoic. You can lose everything in a flash anytime so do not hold onto things or people.Secondly, the harder you squeeze anything in your hand, the more likely it is to slip between your fingers and the less capable you are of picking something else into your hand.Letting go is a sign of wellness. Yielding is a sign of wellness.Bend. Don’t break.Do not cling to people who do not want you in their lives. Even your kids, if you have fought for them and have found no legal or reasonable way of accessing them, let go. Do not kill yourself in the process of getting them. Many men have died because of being attached to their kids.Three, there are no unicorns. There is no soul mate, there is no one special woman meant for you. Such beliefs may sound romantic when things are nice and dandy. But when things go sideways, they can become very harmful. If it doesn’t work with one woman, let her go. Try with another woman. This life is about moments. It is not about permanence. All we have are those brief periods. There are no guarantees.Four. Work on yourself. Put yourself first. This guy did not put himself first. If he did, he wouldn’t be risking jail time because of a woman. If he did, he would have been building something to his name, not seeking to destroy a woman.Five, crime does not pay. Do not commit any crimes, even as a retaliatory measure. This guy, for example, had no clue even about how to hire a hitman. He didn’t even get close. Do not resort to extraordinary measures when you are still an ordinary guy.If you have your health and your life, just be grateful and move on. You will recover from whatever temporary loss you have suffered.Six, do not involve your wife in your crimes. If you have to do things like financial fraud, do it with your co-conspirators out there. Not with your wife. All wives, given enough leverage, tend to apply them at some point. We saw this in the case of Gichurus and it’s the same reason Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos got divorced. Many men have used their side chicks as proxies and harvested premium tears. Seven, get UNPLUGGED.

  • How to Use A.I. for Design

How to Use A.I. for Design

How to Use Generative AI for Design Workflows

    By Royal Urple,  A.I Enthusiast

Design workflows can be time-consuming and require a lot of creativity. It can feel overwhelming to constantly come up with new ideas and designs.

This is where generative AI comes in. Generative AI uses algorithms to generate designs based on specific parameters and inputs. This means that the AI can create multiple designs in a short amount of time, freeing up valuable time for designers to focus on other tasks.

Here are some steps on how to use generative AI for design workflows. Along each step I will include some relevant examples:

    Step 1: Define the parameters

Before you start using generative AI, you need to define the parameters of the design. This includes things like size, color, and shape.

For example, if you are designing a logo, you might define the size as 500×500 pixels, the color as blue, and the shape as circular.

In our example we shall use a rounded square with a size of 512x512 pixels, and primary colours of black and yellow.

Step 2: Choose a generative AI tool

There are many tools available for generative AI. Some popular ones include MidJourney, Leonardo.ai, and DeepArt.io.

When choosing a tool, consider the specific needs of your design workflow. Some tools may be better suited for certain types of designs than others.

For this example we used playground.ai to generate the preliminary images.

    Step 3: Generate designs

Once you have defined the parameters and chosen a generative AI tool, it’s time to start generating designs.

Depending on the tool you are using, you may be able to adjust the parameters and inputs to create multiple designs. This can help you find the perfect design for your needs.

This is usually the longest process and is of course very subjective.

    Step 4: Review and refine

After generating designs, it’s important to review and refine them. This means looking at each design and deciding which elements work and which don’t.

Once you have identified which designs are the most effective, you can refine them further by making small adjustments to the parameters and inputs.

Using other ai tools to remove the background and possibly add text

Step 5: Integrate into your workflow

After you have found the perfect design, it’s time to integrate it into your workflow. This might mean using the design for a website, logo, or other visual element.

By using generative AI in your design workflow, you can save time and create high-quality designs. With the right tools and techniques, you can streamline your design process and produce stunning visual elements.

To compile it all I used Photopea, a free online photo editor with a photoshop like user interface.

Step 6: Experiment with different parameters and inputs

Once you have integrated generative AI into your design workflow, don’t be afraid to experiment with different parameters and inputs. This can help you discover new designs that you may not have thought of before.

For example, if you are designing a website, try adjusting the font style or layout to see how it affects the overall design. By experimenting with different parameters and inputs, you can create unique designs that stand out from the crowd.

The experimental phase can come at the beginning or at the end, I personally believe it to be easier after cementing the initial ideas, as the process can go in many directions especially when using AI

Step 7: Collaborate with other designers

Generative AI can also be a great tool for collaboration among designers. By sharing designs and parameters, multiple designers can work together to create innovative designs in a shorter amount of time.

Collaboration can also provide valuable feedback on designs and help identify areas for improvement. With generative AI as a collaborative tool, designers can work more efficiently and effectively together.

In conclusion, generative AI is an excellent tool for designers looking to streamline their workflow and create high-quality designs quickly. By following these steps and experimenting with different parameters and inputs, designers can produce stunning visual elements that stand out in today’s competitive market.

    Best Regards,

    Royal Urple
